Kuper Academy - Elementary School

Meeting the needs of a diverse student population, we provide differentiated French instruction to pupils who range in ability from beginners to mother tongue Francophones. French classes are streamed so that beginners can acquire vocabulary as they learn to listen, speak, read and write. Regular and advanced French classes work on increasing complex grammar, reading comprehension and verbal fluency.

At Kuper we incorporate technology into the classroom through our personal iPad program and the use of Google classroom throughout the levels. Students are engaged in learning, researching, solving problems and working collaboratively and cooperatively with their classmates. Teachers connect with every student’s learning style and all students are practicing good digital citizenship. The computer lab is available for both classes and small groups.

Kuper works to maintain an atmosphere in which students can enjoy learning while developing competencies they will need for a productive future. Learning is often hands-on, content is relevant, goals are clear, and feedback is constructive and timely. Advancement is recognized and encouraged. Our students generate and communicate ideas through the arts, hands-on projects, speech and writing as they develop independence and a passion for learning.

Kuper offers clubs, sports and activities that provide students with the opportunity to learn about topics that interest them to cement friendships and to establish a positive self image. Educational excursions, team sports, and cultural exchanges provide a sense of belonging and purpose.
